Master of Arts in Mathematics Education
Students across the country are under-performing in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects. Many educational insiders pin the blame on the shortage of qualified teachers willing, and most importantly, capable of teaching these complex subjects within the primary and secondary setting. In fact, the National Commission on Mathematics and Science Teaching for the 21st Century reports that 25 percent of high school mathematics teachers and 20 percent of high school science teachers do not have the academic credentials or background necessary to teach these subjects.
Aurora University offers an online master’s program that is designed specifically for current teachers to meet the instructional needs in the STEM space. Curriculum is based on national education standards and prepares teachers to implement STEM programs in their own classroom.
