Aurora University’s online Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration online degree prepares you to lead the systems and services that impact the health and well-being of others. Healthcare administration offers diverse and rewarding careers in a variety of settings, allowing you to combine a business mindset with a passion for helping others. You’ll graduate with the skills you need to plan, direct, and coordinate medical and health services, maintain patient records, understand healthcare laws, and manage teams of healthcare providers.

Curriculum Overview

Our online program features industry-aligned information and facilitates real-world experiences to prepare you for leadership roles in healthcare. Faculty teaching in the online BS in HCA program have held positions at Christian Community Health Center, Joint Commission International, Mosaic Healthcare and Chateau Center, Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Rush University Medical Center. Faculty focus on the knowledge needed for today’s healthcare landscape. The BSHA degree curriculum aligns with the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME).

In the program, you’ll gain hands-on experience through an internship. You’ll have the opportunity to pursue top-tier internships with well-known organizations through the School of Health Sciences partnerships.

  • A completed undergraduate application
  • Transcripts (official, sealed in envelope) from all previously attended colleges and universities
  • Résumé or curriculum vitae
  • A personal statement addressing why you wish to enroll in an online program and a description of how you will structure your life and time to be successful
  • Background check, drug test, and TB test
  • For applicants without an earned associate degree and/or 60 hours of transfer credit: Proof of high school graduation or completed GED
  • For applicants with fewer than 15 hours of transfer credit: an official high school transcript with ACT/SAT scores
  • Test-Optional Admission: Applicants with fewer than 15 hours of transfer credit who do not have ACT/SAT scores may choose to be reviewed as test-optional. Admission will be based on your high school academic record.

All AU Online students must have unrestricted access to a computer or mobile device with high-speed internet to participate in online courses. AU Online uses Moodle to host its online classes. All students will be charged an $80 Technology Fee per semester, regardless of the number of credits taken.

Students can transfer more than half the credits they need to successfully earn a four-year degree. Aurora University Online will accept up to 68 credits from a two-year institution and 90 credits from a four-year institution.
